Galloway Road Traffic Calming Petition

Support an initiative to slow down traffic on the Galloway Road. A serious injury occurred on Galloway Road in December due to excessive speed. Right now, the speed limit is 50 KPH.
The petition is addressed to the mayor and city council and the request is for speed bumps on Galloway Road as well as a speed limit of 30 KPH. The petition is in the Co-op Office.

Free Money for Low Income Earners $$$! - The amount of free federal dollars left behind because nobody knows about the Canada Learning Bond (see link above) for low income families is far too high. Across Canada there are 405,000 eligible families that don't apply for the free money. In Toronto 78,000 families with incomes under $41,000 a year and children born after '04 who could take advantage of the $2000 for their child'd education. Putting the right items in your blue bin helps recyclables get a second life.

Do NOT put these items into your blue bin: Caulking tubes, plant trays/pots, clear egg cartons, clear fruit/vegetable containers, take-out food containers (most), plastic over-wrap and bags used for flyers, dry-cleaning, milk & potato chips. These are all items to be put into your garbage bin.

Do NOT put these items in your blue bin: Batteries, oil, medicines, propane tanks, cylinders, fluorescent light bulbs and tubes. These are Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and need to be taken to a proper drop off for disposal.

Storefront on Lawrence Ave

The East Scarborough Storefront has undergone some more major construction throughout the month of August forcing a temporary re-location until construction is completed. The Storefront is now back at it's usual location (4040 Lawrence Ave East). Check out the storefront for income taxes clinics for low income people.
